15260 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,260 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO CREATE THE SOUTH OF MAIN (SOMA) 4 TEMPORARY ENTERTAINMENT DISTRICT, FOR EIGHT (8) 5 CONSECUTIVE WEEKS STARTING ON JULY 7,2020;AND FOR OTHER 6 PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, on July 23, 2019, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed 9 Little Rock, Ark., Ordinance No. 21,761, as amended, which permitted the creation of a Temporary 10 Entertainment District pursuant to Arkansas State Law and City Ordinance; and, 11 WHEREAS,the City Board of Directors has determined the creation of a Temporary Entertainment 12 District as proposed by Ordinance No 21,761,as amended,is appropriate as recommended by the Planning 13 &Development Department. 14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS. 16 Section 1.The South of Main(SOMA)Temporary Entertainment District is hereby created by the City 17 of Little Rock as a Temporary Entertainment District on Tuesday July 7, 2020, and subject to Ordinance 18 No 21,761,as amended, and its defined terms. 19 Section 2. Boundaries. The SOMA Temporary Entertainment District boundaries are particularly 20 described as a half block East and West of Main Street bounded on the north by 12th Street and continuing 21 south to 17t Street including the full right-of-way of said road. 22 Section 3. Timeframe. The SOMA Temporary Entertainment District will be designated as a 23 Temporary Entertainment District upon the adoption of this resolution and shall expire after eight (8) 24 consecutive weeks. The hours of operation for the SOMA Temporary Entertainment District are from 25 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The City reserves the right to amend boundaries and hours of operation at its sole 26 discretion. 27 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 5. Repealer.
