15235 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,235 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH COMMAND FIRE APPARATUS, FOR THE 5 TOTAL AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED EIGHTY-TWO THOUSAND, 6 FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($282,500.00), FOR THE PURCHASE OF A 7 USED 2005 PIERCE MID-MOUNT AERIAL PLATFORM TRUCK FOR 8 THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT FIRE SUPPRESSION RESCUE 9 DIVISION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,it is critical that the Little Rock Fire Department("LRFD")be equipped and trained with 12 reliable forms of Search and Rescue Trucks and equipment to perform proper services for the citizens of 13 Little Rock, Arkansas; and, 14 WHEREAS,Unit No. 94D063 (Truck 18)with LRFD is a frontline 1994 Pierce Ladder Truck that is 15 in need of extensive repairs and will be removed from service due to concerns for the safety of staff and 16 ability to perform proper services to the citizens of Little Rock making it imperative the unit be replaced as 17 soon as possible; and, 18 WHEREAS, LRFD and Fleet Services Staff have diligently worked together to find a unit that meets 19 specifications needed and Command Fire Apparatus has a used 2005 Pierce Mid-Mount Aerial Platform 20 Truck that meets LRFD's operational requirements and has the capability to have the unit delivered to Little 21 Rock within two(2)weeks of approval from the Board of Directors, at a total cost of Two Hundred Eight- 22 Two Thousand,Five Hundred Dollars($282,500.00); and, 23 WHEREAS, LRFD and Fleet Services Staff recommendation is to waive the formal bid process and 24 issue a purchase order to Command Fire Apparatus for the purchase of the used 2005 Pierce Aerial Truck. 25 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 26 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 27 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Command Fire Apparatus for 28 the purchase of a used 2005 Pierce Mid-Mount Aerial Platform Truck for a total cost of Two Hundred 29 Eight-Two Thousand,Five Hundred Dollars($282,500.00), plus applicable taxes and fees. 30 Section 2. Funds for the purchase are allocated in the 2020 Fleet Replacement Account No.326609- 31 72300-TS60A31. 32 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 33 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or [Page 1 of 2] 1 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 2 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 3 resolution. 4 Section 4. Repealer.
