15208 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,208 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO APPOINT A SUCCESSOR COMMISSIONER FOR 4 THE QUAPAW CENTRAL BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 5 5 OF LTITLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; TO CONFIRM STAGGERING THE 6 EXISTING TERMS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS,the Board of Commissioners of the Quapaw Central Business Improvement District No. 9 5 of Little Rock, Arkansas, has advised the City that a vacancy exists on the Board of Commissioners 10 arising from the resignation of Mark Leverett; and, 11 WHEREAS, said Board of Commissioners has recommended the appointment of Josh Malone, a 12 property owner in the District,to fill the vacancy for a six(6)-year term to end in 2026;and, 13 WHEREAS,said Board of Commissioners has also recommended that Cassandra Toro be reappointed 14 for a six(6)-year term, also ending in 2025; and, 15 WHEREAS, said Board of Commissioners also wishes to document staggered terms for other 16 Commissioners in conformity with Ark. Code Ann. § 14-184-111, as amended. 17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1. Josh Malone is hereby appointed a Commissioner of the Quapaw Central Business 20 Improvement District No. 5 pursuant to authority granted in Ark. Code Ann. § 14-184-111 for a six(6)- 21 year term to end in 2026. 22 Section 2. Cassandra Toro is hereby appointed a Commissioner of the Quapaw Central Business 23 Improvement District No. 5 pursuant to authority granted in Ark. Code Ann. § 14-184-111 for a six (6)- 24 year term to end in 2025. 25 Section 3. Joe Fox was reappointed in 2012 for a six(6)-year term that would have ended in 2018 and 26 therefore continued to serve an additional six(6)-year term,which will end in 2024. 27 Section 4. Anita Davis was appointed in 2012 for six(6)-year term that would have ended in 2018 and 28 therefore continued to serve an additional six(6)-year term,which will end in 2024. 29 Section 6. Charles Heinbockel has a term which will end in 2022. 30 Section 7. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 32 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 33 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 34 resolution. 35 IPage 1 0121 1 Section 8. Repealer.
