3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK., RESOLUTION NO.
4 15,174 (MARCH 3, 2020) TO CORRECT A BUDGET CALCULATION
5 ERROR INCREASING THE COMMERICAL TIRE EXPENSE
6 CONTRACT WITH GOODYEAR TIRES, LOONEY'S TIRES AND
7 SOUTHERN TIRE MART BY FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND
8 DOLLARS ($550,000.00), FOR THE PURCHASE OF COMMERCIAL
9 TIRES FOR AN ANNUAL PURCHASE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIX
10 HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($650,000.00), FOR THE
11 FLEET SERVICES DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

13 WHEREAS,Little Rock,Ark.,Resolution No. 15,174(March 3,2020)was submitted on behalf of the
14 Fleet Services Department for the purchase of optimal performance commercial replacement tires for
15 vehicles currently in the City's fleet; and,
16 WHEREAS,Vendor selection was made through the State Contract No. SP-16-0012(Goodyear Tires),
17 No. SP-16-0013 (Michelin Tires)and No. SP-16-0014(Bridgestone Tires); all three(3)vendors are on the
18 State Contract; and,
19 WHEREAS, no one (1) vendor is authorized to sell all brands; therefore, three (3) vendors must be
20 selected in order to access all tire brands that are used by the City: Goodyear Tires; Looney's Tires; and
21 Southern Tire Mart; and,
22 WHEREAS, a budget calculation error was made while estimating the total number of commercial
23 tires needed in 2020 based on an average cost of tires purchased in previous years.
24 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
25 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
26 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a one (1)-year amended contract with not
27 more than two(2), one(1)-year renewal extensions for an Amended Annual Budget amount not to exceed
28 Six Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($650,000.00)with:
29 A. Goodyear Tires
30 B. Looney's Tires
31 C. Southern Tire Mart
32 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in the Fleet Parts Account No. 600013-60320.
33 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
34 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or

1 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
2 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
3 resolution.
4 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
5 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
