120371 2 RESOLUTION NO. 12,037 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH LITTLE ROCK BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS - 5 WHETSTONE TO PROVIDE A YOUTH INITIATIVE PROJECT (YIP) 6 PROGRAM IN THE SOUTHWEST TARGETED NEIGHBORHOOD; 7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention, 10 intervention, and youth development programs and services to enhance public safety 11 and community- building, and 12 WHEREAS, the City advertised a formal Bid No. 5271 to solicit proposals for 13 youth initiative project services for Little Rock youth, and 14 WHEREAS, the City was divided into neighborhood service areas with a 15 specified number of providers for each area based upon youth population, and 16 WHEREAS, a review committee met and reviewed the proposals submitted, 17 determined the lowest responsible and responsive bidder(s), and recommends the 18 contract award for a Youth Initiative Project site in the Southwest targeted 19 neighborhood: and 20 WHEREAS, on July 6, 2005, the Commission on Youth and Families voted to 21 recommend to the City Board of Directors that this contract be awarded. 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF 23 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Little 25 Rock Boys & Girls Clubs- Whetstone for a male youth initiative project services in an [PAGE 1 OF 21 Resolution Contracts with Five Organizations to Provide Youth Initiative Project ( "YIP ") Programs in Targeted Neighborhoods I amount not to exceed Forty -three Thousand Four Hundred Fifty -one Dollars 2 ($43,451.00). 3 Section 2. Funds for these programs are from FUTURE - Little Rock tax 4 revenue specified for prevention, intervention, and treatment programs, account 5 number 105 - 035 -T350. 6 Section 3. The term of the contract is for July 15, 2005, to July 14, 2006, and may 7 be extended for one additional one -year term upon appropriation, satisfactory 8 performance and mutual agreement of the parties. 9 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or 10 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not 11 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remain in full force and 12 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not 13 originally a part of this resolution. 14 Section 5. Repealer.
