3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO AN ANNUAL CONTRACT WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT, INC.,
5 IN THE AMOUNT OF NINETY-SIX THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED
6 FORTY-FIVE AND 72/100 DOLLARS ($96,345.72), WITH THE OPTION
7 TO EXTEND FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL YEARS, FOR COMMERCIAL
8 TRASH AND RECYCLING FOR CITY FACILITIES; AND FOR OTHER
9 PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for Commercial Trash and Recycling Collection Contract for City
12 Facilities,Bid No. 551; and,
13 WHEREAS, Waste Management, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
14 specifications in the amount of Ninety-Six Thousand, Three Hundred Forty-Five and 72/100 Dollars
15 ($96,345.72),first year costs.
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Waste Management,
19 Inc.for Bid No. 551,in the amount of Ninety-Six Thousand,Three Hundred Forty-Five and 72/100 Dollars
20 ($96,345.72)for first year costs.
21 Section 2. The City Manager is further authorized to extend the contract period each year for two(2)
22 additional years and to adjust the contract amount by the percent change in the Consumer Price Index(CPI),
23 if agreeable to both parties.
24 Section 3. Funding for this project is from Account No. 101002-63202.
25 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 5. Repealer.All laws, ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
