4 HEARING ON THE REQUEST TO ABANDON THE VAN BUREN STREET
5 RIGHT-OF-WAY,LOCATED BETWEEN WEST 13TH STREET AND WEST
6 14TH STREET,LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS;(G-23-473);AND FOR OTHER
7 PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the Planning& Development Department requests abandonment of the Van Buren Street
10 right-of-way located between West 13'^ Street and West 14'h Street adjacent to Lots I and 12, Block 1,
11 Metropolitan Addition,Plat of Record dated April 24, 1906,and recorded in Plat Book 1,Page 122A and the
12 unrecorded Good Counsel Church property described as the East %,NW /,NW ''A,NE '/,T-1-N, R-7-W,
13 Pulaski County Assessor's Parcel No. 34L117000200, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas;and,
14 WHEREAS,all proper statutory procedures for such an abandonment have been met and the issue is ripe
15 for consideration by the Board of Directors.
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF
17 LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. A public hearing concerning the abandonment of the Van Buren Street right-of-way located
19 between West 13'h Street and West 14'h Streets adjacent to Lots I and 12,Block I,Metropolitan Addition,Plat
20 of Record dated April 24, 1906 and recorded in Plat Book I,Page 122A and the unrecorded Good Counsel
21 Church property described as the East %,NW 'h,NW '/,,NE Y, T-1-N, R-7-W, Pulaski County Assessor's
22 Parcel No.34L117000200,Little Rock,Pulaski County,Arkansas,will be held by the Board of Directors at its
23 meeting that will start at 6:00 PM on the 41h day of February, 2020,at City Hall, 500 West Markham Street,
24 Little Rock, Arkansas. At the public hearing, all interested persons shall have the opportunity to be heard
25 concerning the abandonment of the easements and covenants.
26 Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to give notice of such hearing in the manner prescribed by
27 law by publication once a week for two(2)consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in Pulaski County,
28 Arkansas,and having a general circulation in the City of Little Rock.
29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title,section,paragraph,item,sentence,clause,phrase,or word
30 of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication
31 shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the
32 portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the resolution.
33 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are

1 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
