3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH LANDSCAPE STRUCTURES, INC., IN THE
5 TOTAL AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-FIVE THOUSAND
6 DOLLARS ($165,000.00), TO CONSTRUCT AND INSTALL A NEW
7 PLAYGROUND AT MURRAY PARK; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS,the Parks& Recreation Department Staff applied for the Blue & You Foundation Grant
10 in 2019 for the construction of a new playground at Murray Park; and,
11 WHEREAS,on November 14,2019,the City of Little Rock,Arkansas(City)received an award letter
12 from the Blue and You Foundation; and,
13 WHEREAS,Murray Park,a regional park with eight(8)existing pavilions receives a large number of
14 public requests for playground equipment since the two(2)original playgrounds were removed some time
15 ago and the only remaining playground equipment is a large space net climber; and,
16 WHEREAS, the project was quoted through Sourcewell Agreement No. 030117-LSI for a total
17 contract amount including equipment and installation of One Hundred Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars
18 ($165,000.00); and,
19 WHEREAS,One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars($150,000.00)of funding needed will be provided
20 by the Blue and You Foundation Grant Award and the remaining Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00)
21 funding shall be provided from the Parks Capital Upgrade Account No.326459-TS45A 1 I;
22 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
23 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Landscape Structures, Inc.
25 in an amount not to exceed a total cost of One Hundred Sixty-Five Thousand Dollars($165,000.00)for the
26 construction and installation of a new playground located at Murray Park.
27 Section 2. One Hundred Fifty Thousand Dollars ($150,000.00) of the funds needed for this project
28 will be provided by the Blue and You Foundation Grant Award and the remaining Fifteen Thousand Dollars
29 ($15,000.00)funds needed shall be provided from the Parks Capital Upgrade Account 326459-TS45A1 I.
30 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
31 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
32 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect
33 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso-
34 lution.

1 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
2 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
