A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT THE NOMINATION
OF MARY BETH RINGGOLD AND LAWRENCE J.
STEWART, III, FOR APPOINTMENT TO THE
ADVERTISING & PROMOTION COMMISSION;
TO THANK TEMPERLENE GRISSOM -SMITH
AND BILL FRANKE FOR THEIR SERVICE TO
THE COMMISSION; AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, state law provides the the industry representatives to the
Advertising & Promotion Commission shall be nominated by the Commission for
acceptance by the City Board of Directors; and
WHEREAS, the Commission has nominated Ms. Mary Beth Ringgold to take
the place of Ms. Temperlene Grissom- Smith; and
WHEREAS, because of the numerous issues involved in the constructon of the
expansions to the Statehouse Convention Center it is important to have the Commission
at full strength throughout this process; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Bill Franke's term will expire on May 1, 1998, and the
Commission wishes to nominate now, for service to begin on that date, Mr. Lawrence
J. Stewart, III; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of the City of Little Rock wishes to
facilitate the operations of the Commission, to make these appointments, and to thank
these individuals for their selfless and dedicated service to the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF
DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
SECTION 1. The Board of Directors accepts the nomination of the
Commission and appoints Ms. Mary Beth Ringgold to fill the unexpired term of Ms.
Temperlene Grissom- Smith.
SECTION 2. The Board of Directors accepts the nomination of the
Commission and states that effective May 1, 1998, it appoints Mr. Lawrence J. Stewart,
III, to succeed Mr. Bill Franke as an industry member of the Commission.
SECTION 3. The Board of Directors extends its appreciation and thanks to
Ms. Temperlene Grissom -Smith and to Mr. Bill Franke for their dedicated and selfless
service to the Advertising & Promotion Commission.
