15081 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,081 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH NORTH AMERICA FIRE EQUIPMENT 5 COMPANY, INC., FOR THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED 6 EIGHTY-ONE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED SEVENTY AND 02/100 7 DOLLARS ($181,670.02), PLUS APPLICABLE TAXES AND FEES, FOR 8 THE PURCHASE OF FIREFIGHTING PROTECTIVE COATS AND 9 PANTS FOR THE LITTLE ROCK FIRE DEPARTMENT; AND FOR 10 OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Fire Department is in need of eighty-three(83)PBI Coats and eighty-four 13 (84)PBI Pants; and, 14 WHEREAS,the specifications for this purchase were written and approved by the members serving 15 on the Little Rock Fire Department Safety Committee;and, 16 WHEREAS,bids were taken for the Firefighting Protective Coats and Pants and North America Fire 17 Equipment Company,Inc.,was the low bidder with a bid of One Thousand,Two Hundred Seventy-Six and 18 94/100 Dollars ($1,276.94) for Protective Coats and Nine Hundred One Dollars ($901.00) for Protective 19 Pants for a total bid not to exceed One Hundred Eighty-One Thousand, Six Hundred Seventy and 02/100 20 Dollars($181,670.02), plus applicable taxes and fees;and, 21 WHEREAS,staff recommends that a contract be awarded to North America Fire Equipment Company, 22 Inc. for the purchase of eighty-three(83) PBI Coats and eighty-four(84) PBI Pants; 23 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with North America Fire Equipment 26 Company, Inc., for the purchase of eighty-three (83) PBI Coats and eighty-four (84) PBI Pants for the 27 amount of One Hundred Eighty-One Thousand, Six Hundred Seventy and 02/100 Dollars($181,670.02). 28 Section 2. Funding for this purchase is available through a short-term note Activity No. F449005. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 resolution.
