3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH D&J RED IRON AND AGGREGATES,LTD.,
5 IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SIXTY-ONE THOUSAND, ONE
6 HUNDRED SEVENTY-SIX AND 35/100 DOLLARS ($61,176.35), FOR
7 RAISED CROSSWALKS ON SAWGRASS DRIVE AT DORADO BEACH
8 DRIVE: AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for Ward 5 Traffic Calming Improvements, Sawgrass Raised
11 Crosswalks(Sawgrass Drive&Dorado Beach Drive),Bid Event No. 507; and,
12 WHEREAS,D&J Red Iron and Aggregates,LTD.,was the lowest responsive,responsible bid meeting
13 specifications.
14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with D&J Red Iron and
17 Aggregates, LTD., for Sawgrass Raised Crosswalk(Sawgrass Drive &Dorado Beach), in an amount not
18 to exceed Sixty-One Thousand, One Hundred Seventy-Six and 35/100 Dollars ($61,176.35), which is the
19 base bid amount of be Fifty Thousand, Nine Hundred Eighty and 29/100 Dollars ($50,980.29) plus 20%
20 contingencies..
21 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the%-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
22 Use Tax Funds as authorized by Resolution No. 14,269(January 5,2016).
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer.All laws, ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
29 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
