15013 1 RESOLUTION NO. 15,013 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONSTRUCTION SERVICES CONTRACT WITH TOWNSHIP 5 BUILDERS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED 6 THIRTY-NINE THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE 7 DOLLARS ($139,375.00), FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW TRAIL 8 FOR THE MACARTHUR PARK SAFE ROUTES TO SCHOOL PROJECT; 9 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock,Arkansas,was awarded a Safe Routes to School(SRTS)Grant in 12 2015 which shall be used to assist with funding for the construction of a new trail at MacArthur Park; and, 13 WHEREAS,the Construction Services will provide a ten(10)-foot wide asphalt trail from east of Main 14 Street to Rockefeller Elementary School on the south side of Interstate 630 from MacArthur Park; and, 15 WHEREAS, after a competitive bidding process, Bid No. 317, it was determined that Township 16 Builders was the lowest, most responsible bid with a total of four(4)bids received;and, 17 WHEREAS,the total cost of the project will not exceed One Hundred Thirty-Nine Thousand, Three 18 Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars ($139,375.00), of which One Hundred One Thousand, Three 19 Hundred Twenty-Nine Dollars($101,329.00)shall be funded from MacArthur Park Safe Routes to School 20 Grant Funds and a donation from the MacPark Group, Account No. 270459-G23119, with the balance of 21 Thirty-Eight Thousand, Forty-Six Dollars($38,046.00)allocated in Account No. 210459-S45B638. 22 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 23 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 24 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Township Builders in an 25 amount not to exceed One Hundred Thirty-Nine Thousand,Three Hundred Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars 26 ($139,375.00)to provide general Construction Services for the construction of a ten(10)-foot wide asphalt 27 trail from east of Main Street to Rockefeller Elementary School on the south side of Interstate 630 from 28 MacArthur Park for the MacArthur Park Safe Routes to School Project. 29 Section 2. The Project will be funded from the MacArthur Park Safe Routes to School Grant Fund in 30 the amount of Ninety-Six Thousand, Three Hundred Twenty-Nine Dollars ($96,329.00) and a donation 31 from the MacPark Group in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), Account No. 270459- 32 G23119 and balance of the funding needed for this construction project allocated in Account No. 210459- 33 S45B638. In the event anytitle, section, paragraph, item sentence, clause, phrase, or 1 Y 2 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 3 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 4 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 5 resolution. 6 Section 4. Repealer.
