21729 1 ORDINANCE NO.21,729 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE IT IMPRACTICAL AND UNFEASIBLE 4 TO BID; TO AWARD A SOLE-SOURCE MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT 5 TO MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE 6 HUNDRED FORTY-TWO THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED THIRTY-NINE 7 AND 05/100 DOLLARS ($142,139.05),INCLUDING APPLICABLE TAXES 8 AND FEES, TO PROVIDE A TWELVE (12)-MONTH MAINTENANCE 9 PLAN FOR THE CITY'S RADIO INFRASTRUCTURE EQUIPMENT 10 UTILIZED BY THE LITTLE ROCK POLICE DEPARMTENT 11 COMM[JNICATIONS DIVISION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 12 13 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas, currently utilizes a Motorola System for its 14 Emergency Communications and has for more than twenty(20)years;and, 15 WHEREAS, it is crucial to have a Maintenance Agreement in place for the Radio Infrastructure 16 System which includes maintenance on dispatch center consoles, Mach Alert hardware, microwave links 17 and the radio IP logger utilized by the Little Rock Police Department Communication Division;and, 18 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Police Department is requesting a Sole-Source Maintenance Agreement, 19 with two (2), one (1)-year extensions, with Motorola Solutions, Inc., for a twelve (12)-month 20 Maintenance Plan at a cost of One Hundred Forty-Two Thousand, One Hundred Thirty-Nine and 05/100 21 Dollars ($142,139.05), plus applicable taxes and fees to properly maintain the City's Network 22 Infrastructure System. , 23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1. The Mayor and City Manager are authorized to enter into a Sole-Source Service 26 Agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc., in the amount of One Hundred Forty-Two Thousand, One 27 Hundred Thirty-Nine and 05/100 Dollars ($142,139.05), plus applicable taxes and fees, to provide a 28 twelve (12)-month Maintenance Plan, with two (2), one (1)-year extensions, with Motorola Solutions, 29 Inc. for the City's Radio Infrastructure Equipment which includes maintenance on dispatch center 30 consoles, Mach Alert hardware, microwave links and the radio IP logger utilized by the Communication 31 Division of the Little Rock Police Department. 32 Section 2. Because of the need to have maintenance services for the Radio Network System 33 Infrastructure, the Board declares that it is impractical and unfeasible to submit this matter to a [Pagel of 21 1 competitive bid process,and,therefore,waives competitive bidding. 2 Section 4. Funds for the specific agreement authorized by this ordinance are available in the City's 3 911 Fund,Account No.220511. 4 Section 5. Severability.
