21710 1 ORDINANCE NO. 21,710 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO DECLARE IT IMPRACTICAL AND UNFEASIBLE 4 TO BID; TO AWARD A MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT TO 5 MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED 6 TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY-THREE AND 7 54/100 DOLLARS ($122,423.54), TO PROVIDE 4TH QUARTER 2018 8 MAINTENANCE FOR THE CITY'S 800 MHZ RADIO SYSTEM 9 INFRASTRUCTURE, PORTABLE AND MOBILE RADIOS; AND FOR 10 OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock, Arkansas currently utilizes a Motorola System for its 13 emergency communications and has for more than twenty(20)years; and, 14 WHEREAS, it is crucial to have a Maintenance Agreement in place for the 800 MHz Radio System 15 infrastructure which includes portable and mobile radios used by the Little Rock Police Department; and, 16 WHEREAS,the current Motorola Maintenance Agreement provides annual services from September 17 to September each year; and, 18 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Police Department is requesting a Sole-Source Maintenance Agreement 19 with Motorola Solutions, Inc., for the 4th Quarter 2018 Maintenance at a cost of One Hundred Twenty- 20 Two Thousand,Four Hundred Twenty-Three and 54/100 Dollars($122,423.54),plus applicable taxes and 21 fees to properly maintain the City's 800 MHz Radio Network Infrastructure System which includes 22 portable and mobile radios used by the Little Rock Police Department. 23 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 24 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 25 Section 1. The Mayor is authorized to enter into a Service Agreement with Motorola Solutions, Inc., 26 in the amount of One Hundred Twenty-Two Thousand, Four Hundred Twenty-Three and 54/100 Dollars 27 ($122,423.54), plus applicable taxes and fees, to provide 4th Quarter 2018 Maintenance for the City's 800 28 MHz Radio Network System Infrastructure. 29 Section 2.Because of the need to have maintenance services for the 800 MHz Radio Network System 30 Infrastructure to complete the 4th quarter of the agreement, the Board declares that it is impractical and 31 unfeasible to submit this matter to a competitive bid process, and,therefore,waives competitive bidding. 32 Section 4. Funds for the specific agreement authorized by this ordinance are available in the City's 33 911 Fund,Account No. 220511. [Page 1 of 2] 1 Section 5. Severability. In the event any portion of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be 2 invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this 3 ordinance, which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or 4 unconstitutional was not originally a part of this ordinance. 5 Section 6.Repealer.
