3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE LEASE OF BALL PARK
4 FACILITIES OWNED BY THE OPTIMIST CLUB OF ROSEDALE;
5 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

7 WHEREAS, the Optimist Club of Rosedale, a non - profit corporation organized
8 pursuant to Arkansas law, owns a ballpark located at 8616 Colonel Glenn Road in Little
9 Rock; and
10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department is in need
11 of additional ball fields for its youth athletic programs; and
12 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department is
13 interested in leasing the Optimist Club's ball park in order to benefit the City's youth
14 athletic programs; and
15 WHEREAS, the Optimist Club of Rosedale desires to lease its ballpark to the
16 City of Little Rock on a long -term basis for a nominal annual fee in order to help
17 preserve the facility's great heritage and its role in the lives of many children.
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a lease agreement with
21 the Optimist Club of Rosedale, in a form approved by the City Attorney, for a period of
22 not more than twenty (20) years, for the City's use and management of the baseball
23 facilities located at 8616 Colonel Glenn Road.
24 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
25 clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
26 unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining

portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
ordinance.
Section 3. Repealer. All ordinances and resolutions are hereby repealed to the
extent of such inconsistency.
