14932 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,932 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE 4 QUITCLAIM DEEDS TO DONATE UNDEVLOPED PROPERTY OWNED 5 BY THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, TO DEPAUL, USA, TO 6 BE UTILIZED FOR NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PROGRAMS; 7 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has stated as one of its goals a desire to provide for 10 neighborhood revitalization,and has taken special efforts to accomplish this goal through its use of various 11 City and Federal Funds, and in affirmative actions such as the creation of a Land Bank Commission; and, 12 WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this goal is it required that properties be obtained by the City in 13 areas that are appropriate for revitalization;and, 14 WHEREAS, in an effort maximize the Land Bank's revitalization efforts,the Land Bank Commission 15 and City Staff propose donation of the properties located at: 2701 Barber Street; 2705 Welch Street;2800 16 Welch Street(note: Commissioners' Deed needs to be recorded before donating); and 2818 Welch Street. 17 The four(4)undeveloped parcels are vacant lots being donated to DePaul,USA; and, 18 WHEREAS, the City wishes to donate the property to DePaul, USA, for use in its neighborhood 19 revitalization efforts to provide affordable housing by conveyance of a Quitclaim Deed approved as to form 20 by the City Attorney. 21 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 22 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1.The Board of Directors authorize the Mayor to execute a Quitclaim Deed to the properties 24 located at: 2701 Barber Street; 2705 Welch Street; 2800 Welch Street(note: Commissioners' Deed needs 25 to be recorded before donating); and 2818 Welch Street; conveying the four (4) undeveloped parcels to 26 DePaul,USA, in a form as approved by the City Attorney. 27 Section 2.The property shall be used for a public purpose,specifically for City Revitalization Programs 28 to provide affordable housing. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 resolution.
