3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH AMERICAN STRUCTURE, INC., IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED SIXTY-ONE THOUSAND,
6 THREE HUNDRED THIRTY-ONE AND 50/100 DOLLARS ($161,331.50),
7 TO BUILD A QUARANTINE AREA AS AN ADDITION TO THE LITTLE
8 ROCK ANIMAL VILLAGE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,for over four(4)years,the Little Rock Animal Services and Friends of the Animal Village
11 had raised funds to create a Quarantine Area at the Little Rock Animal Village; and,
12 WHEREAS, the cost of this project, paid for with donated funds, will be One Hundred Sixty-One
13 Thousand,Three Hundred Thirty-One and 50/100 Dollars($161,331.50); and,
14 WHEREAS,this addition will provide an area for dogs waiting to be transported out of State, which
15 in 2017 was 753 dogs, and will also permit the Little Rock Animal Village to increase space to allow some
16 dogs prior to adoption for a longer period of time; and,
17 WHEREAS, pursuant to Bid No.18149 the City received six (6) bids for this quarantine area and it
18 was determined that American Structure,Inc.,was the lowest responsible and responsive bidder.
19 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with American Structure,Inc.,
22 in an amount not to exceed a total cost of One Hundred Sixty-One Thousand, Three Hundred Thirty-One
23 and 50/100 Dollars ($161,331.50), for the construction of a Quarantine Area at the Little Rock Animal
24 Village.
25 Section 2. Funds for this project, which will be paid from donated funds exclusively for this project,
26 are available in Account No. 210359-S00B357.
27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adju-
29 dication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect
30 as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the reso-
31 lution.
32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
33 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
