RESOLUTION NO. 14,902
3 A RESOLUTION TO DIRECT THAT IN JANUARY 2019, A FORUM
4 STRUCTURE BE CREATED TO STUDY THE FORM OF GOVERNANCE
5 FOR THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, questions have been raised regarding the selection of a governing structure for the City
9 of Little Rock, Arkansas, including the position of Mayor; and,
10 WHEREAS, as was done with the FUTURE—Little Rock process and the Vision Little Rock process,
11 this issue is of such importance to all segments of the community that it should be given careful
12 consideration;
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
14 OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
15 Section 1. In January 2019, the Mayor and Members of the Board of Directors shall create a forum
16 structure to recommend the best form of government for the City to be presented to the citizens of Little
17 Rock within a period of one (1) -year from the date of its creation.
18 Section 2. Any such process is to include participation by numerous sections of the community who
19 participate in a public and open process.
20 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
21 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
22 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
23 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
24 resolution.
25 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are
26 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
