21649 1 ORDINANCE NO. 21,649 2 3 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 8,ARTICLE 1,§§8-2(a)AND(b) 4 OF THE LITTLE ROCK REVISED CODE OF ORDINANCES (1988); TO 5 PROVIDE FOR THE ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE 2018 6 INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE; TO DECLARE 7 AN EMERGENCY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 8 9 WHEREAS, Little Rock, Arkansas, Rev. Code 8-172(a) (1988) (LRC §§ ) adopts by reference 10 the 2018 Edition of the International Property Maintenance Code; and, 11 WHEREAS, the City has complied with Arkansas Code Ann. §§14-55-207 (1987) by publishing a 12 notice of intent to adopt these technical codes by reference in a paper of general circulation within the 13 municipality and three(3)copies of Codes have been available for inspection in the City Clerk's Office for 14 the public prior to their adoption; and, 15 WHEREAS,this ordinance amendment is necessary to update the City Code and authorize the use of 16 2018 Edition within the City; 17 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 19 Section 1.This section of LRC §§ 8-2(a) and(b)(1988) is hereby amended to read as follows: 20 (a) The following publications are adopted by reference: 21 (1)The 2018 International Property Maintenance Code. 22 Section 2. A copy of the 2018 International Property Maintenance Code, as adopted, will be 23 maintained in the Office of the City Clerk. 24 Section 3. Code Application. Permits obtained prior to the effective date of the ordinance will be 25 enforced under the previous adopted code till final disposition of the permit. 26 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same that are inconsistent with 27 the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency. 28 Section 5. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 29 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudge to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 30 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this ordinance, which shall remain in full force and 31 , effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of this 32 ordinance. 33 Section 6. Emergency Clause.
