3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE A CONTRACT WITH ADVANCED
4 EXERCISE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED
5 EIGHTY-SIX THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE DOLLARS
6 ($286,575.00), FOR THE PURCHASE OF FITNESS EQUIPMENT FOR
7 THE SOUTHWEST COMMUNITY CENTER AND DUNBAR
8 COMMUNITY CENTER; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,there is a need to provide Fitness Equipment to both the Southwest Community Center
11 and the Dunbar Community Center; and,
12 WHEREAS, the total cost of the purchase is Two Hundred Eighty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred
13 Seventy-Five Dollars($286,575.00); and,
14 WHEREAS, vendor selection was made by staff vetting various fitness equipment providers to
15 determine that the equipment provided by Advanced Exercise is the most economical and highest quality
16 equipment to be procured and financed utilizing the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) a National
17 Cooperative Purchasing Program, Contract No. 120215-LFF;
18 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
19 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract with Advanced Equipment for the
21 purchase fitness equipment for the Southwest Community Center and the Dunbar Community Center in an
22 amount not to exceed Two Hundred Eighty-Six Thousand, Five Hundred Seventy-Five Dollars
23 ($286,575.00).
24 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in the 3/8-Cent City Sales Tax.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
31 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
