RESOLUTION NO. 12,170
3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH AUSTIN CONSTRUCTION TO PROVIDE
5 SERVICES FOR RENOVATION OF FIRE STATION #9; AND FOR
6 OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, the 2004 Capital Improvement Bond issue approved by the voters of
9 the City of Little Rock provided funds for the renovation of twenty of the City's fire
10 stations, and
11 WHEREAS, Fire Station #9, located at 1324 North Shackleford Road was one of
12 the stations included for the improvements as part of the renovation project, and
13 WHEREAS, Phase I renovation was completed on Fire Station #9 earlier this year
14 and Phase II work will complete renovation of the station, including upgrade of the
15 kitchen and amenities, dormitory, and related facilities.
16 WHEREAS, an invitation was issued for renovation of Fire Station #9, and
17 Austin Construction submitted the most responsive and responsible bid in the amount
18 of Two Hundred Ninety -nine Thousand, Two Hundred Seventy -five Dollars
19 ($299,275.00).
20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
21 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
22 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter
23 into a contract with Austin Construction., in the amount of Two Hundred Ninety -nine
24 Thousand, Two Hundred Seventy -five Dollars ($299,275.00)., for the renovation of Fire
25 Station #9, at 1324 North Shackleford Road.
26 Section 2. This project will be funded from 2004 Bond Projects Fund.

Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence,
clause, phrase, or word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or
unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not affect the remaining
portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and effect as if the portion so
declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
resolution.
Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that
are inconsistent with the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent
of such inconsistency.
