3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK. RES. NO. 12,144
4 (NOVEMBER 15, 2005) TO CLARIFY THAT THE PROPERTY
5 DONATED TO THE CITY WILL BE EXCLUSIVELY USED FOR OPEN
6 SPACE USES CONSISTENT WITH THE OPEN SPACE PRINCIPLES
7 IN THE MASTER PARKS PLAN; TO CORRECT THE LEGAL
8 DESCRIPTION; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock accepted the donation of 18.91 acres of
11 steeply sloped wooded property to add to the existing parks system in Resolution No.
12 12, 144 (November 15, 2005); and
13 WHEREAS, this land will be used exclusively for public purposes as outlined in
14 the master parks plan provisions for open space principles specifically designed to
15 utilize steeply sloped wooded areas; and
16 WHEREAS, Section 1 of Resolution No. 12, 144 (November 15, 2005) should be
17 amended to reflect the actual exclusive public use of the property to enable the City to
18 obtain an exemption from ad valorem taxation for 2006 and future years as public
19 property used exclusively for public purposes and to make a minor correction in the
20 legal description.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
22 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
23 Section 1. Section 1 of Little Rock, Ark. Res. No. 12, 144 (November 15, 2005) is
24 hereby amended to read as follows: "The Mayor and City Clerk are authorized to
25 accept the dedication of nineteen (19) acres of land, more or less, being described on
26 Attachment "A" hereto for exclusive public use as open space, green infrastructure,

conservation development; future urban forestry, and other similar low impact activity
consistent with open space principles as outlined in the City's Master Park's Plan."
