3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,
4 ARKANSAS, TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE OF
5 CITIES PRESCRIPTION DISCOUNT PROGRAM; AND FOR OTHER
6 PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS,the National League of Cities (NLC) sponsors the NLC Prescription Discount Program
9 with CVS Caremark, which provides an average 24% prescription discounts at over 68,000 pharmacies
10 including,but not limited to,the four(4)CVS pharmacies located within the City of Little Rock("the City),
11 and does not cost the City any fee to participate.
12 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
13 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
14 Section 1. The Board of Directors authorizes the City Manager to take all necessary steps to enroll
15 the City in the NLC Prescription Discount Program, to arrange for the production of cards for use by City
16 residents,and to take other steps to advertise this program.
17 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
18 word of this ordinance is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
19 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the ordinance which shall remain in full force and
20 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
21 ordinance.
22 Section 3. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
23 the provisions of this ordinance, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
