14861 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,861 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK,ARK., 14,446 (NOVEMBER 4 1, 2016) TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXTEND THE 5 CONTRACT WITH VSP, TO INCLUDE AN ADDITIONAL SEVENTY- 6 FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000.00), FOR GROUP VISION 7 INSURANCE FOR CITY EMPLOYEES FOR A SECOND TWELVE (12)- 8 MONTH PERIOD EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2018; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,the City provides certain Group Vision Insurance Benefits for its employees, and after a 12 competitive selection process it was determined that the most qualified applicant with the best overall rate 13 to provide such insurance for current City employees is VSP; and, 14 WHEREAS, the basic cost of such coverage to the City will include an additional Seventy-Five 15 Thousand Dollars($75,000.00)for 2018,due to additional employees joining the plan and high utilization. 16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to amend Little Rock, Ark., 14,446 (November 1, 2016) 19 to extend the agreement with VSP for Group Vision Insurance for the second period of January 1,2018,to 20 December 31,2018,for an additional amount of Seventy-Five Thousand Dollars($75,000.00). 21 Section 2. Funds for this agreement will be available from a line item for Group Vision Insurance in 22 the 2018 Budget,Account No. 100000-14010. 23 Section 3. Pursuant to approval by the City,this contract may be extended six(6)additional times for 24 six(6)additional years in accordance with the renewal clause in the original agreement. 25 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 29 resolution. 30 Section 5. Repealer.
