3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
4 A CONTRACT WITH CARELINK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEEED
5 SIXTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($60,000.00), UTILIZING THE 2018
6 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS, TO PROVIDE
7 MEALS ON WHEELS TO ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANTS;AND FOR OTHER
8 PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, in Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 14,798 (June 5, 2018), the Board of Directors
11 approved the sources and uses of 2018 Community Development Block Grant Funds from the U.S.
12 Department of Housing&Urban Development; and,
13 WHEREAS, a contract with CareLink to provide Meals on Wheels to elderly recipients was one of
14 the approved projects;and,
15 WHEREAS,funding is now in place to be able to be able to enter into such an agreement.
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with CareLink in an amount not
19 to exceed Sixty Thousand Dollars($60,000.00),to provide Meals on Wheels to eligible recipients pursuant
20 to the proposed included in the City's 2018 request for Community Development Block Grant Funds.
21 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are available in the Community Development Block Grant Funds
22 from the U.S. Department of Housing&Urban Development monitored by the Housing&Neighborhood
23 Programs Department.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are
30 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency including, but not limited to, Little Rock, Ark.,
31 Resolution No. 14,798 (June 5,2018).
