3 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN EXTENSION OF THE
4 CONTRACT WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF
s HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, BUREAU OF ALCOHOL
6 AND DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION, TO PROVIDE ADULT
7 SUBSTANCE ABUSE TREATMENT SERVICES IN A
s RESIDENTIAL SETTING TO LITTLE ROCK RESIDENTS; AND
9 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
11 WHEREAS, the City of Little Rock is committed to providing prevention,
12 intervention and treatment services to enhance public safety, community- building, and
13 youth development for Little Rock residents; and
14 WHEREAS, the current contract with the Arkansas Department of Human
15 Services, Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention has an option for one
16 additional one -year extension based upon their performance and Little Rock Board of
17 Directors appropriations.
Is NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
19 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS:
20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to extend the contract with Arkansas
21 Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Alcohol and Drug Abuse
22 Prevention for one year to provide adult substance abuse treatment services in a
23 residential setting to Little Rock residents.
24 Section 2. The term of this contract extension shall be from January 1, 2006" to
25 December 31, 2006.

I Section 3. Funding for this contract shall not exceed $250,000 and shall come
2 from prevention, intervention and treatment funds, account number "TBA ".
3 Section 4. Severability. In the event any portion of this resolution is declared or
4 adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or adjudication shall not
5 affect the remaining portions of this resolution, which shall remaining full force and
6 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not
7 originally a part of this resolution.
s Section 5. Repealer. All resolutions, and parts thereof, which are in conflict with
9 any provision of this resolution are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
