14831 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,831 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD A 4 CONTRACT TO JCON CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT 5 TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-FIVE THOUSAND, TWO 6 HUNDRED EIGHTEEN DOLLARS ($155,218.00), FOR THE 7 CONSTRUCTION OF THE MAIN STREET & ROOSEVELT ROAD 8 SIDEWALKS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES 9 10 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for construction of the Main Street & Roosevelt Road Sidewalks, Department of Transportation Job No. 061526,Bid No. 18006; and, Arkansas p p 12 WHEREAS, JCON Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting 13 specifications. 14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 16 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with JCON Construction, 17 Inc., for the construction of the Main Street&Roosevelt Road Sidewalks in an amount not to exceed One 18 Hundred Fifty-Five Thousand,Two Hundred Eighteen Dollars($155,218.00),which is the base bid amount 19 of One Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand, Three Hundred Forty-Nine Dollars ($129,349.00), plus 20% 20 contingencies. • 21 Section 2. Funding for this project is from Federal-Aid Transportation Alternative Grant Funds through 22 Metroplan and the Arkansas Department of Transportation(80%)with City share from the 3/8-Cent Capital 23 Improvement Sales and Compensating Use Tax, Special Project Activity No. TS1B062. 24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 28 resolution. 29 Section 4.
