3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 APPROVE A CONTRACT INCREASE FOR GENE SUMMERS
5 CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF TWENTY-NINE
6 THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED FIFTEEN DOLLARS ($29,515.00), FOR
7 ADDITIONAL IMPROVEMENTS TO 18TH STREET, FROM PEYTON
8 STREET TO WASHINGTON STREET; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS, on April 17, 2018, the City of Little Rock Board of Directors authorized a contract
11 with Gene Summers Construction, Inc., by Resolution Number 14,762, for 18th Street Improvements,
12 Project No. 16-1-ST-8,Bid No. 18008; and,
13 WHEREAS, it is desirable to increase the authorized contract amount for Gene Summers
14 Construction,Inc.,to provide for the replacement of a sanitary sewer with the street reconstruction work.
15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to increase the contract amount for Gene Summers
18 Construction, Inc., to One Hundred Four Thousand, Nine Hundred Forty-Seven Dollars ($104,947.00),
19 which is an increase of Twenty-Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Fifteen Dollars ($29,515.00) from the
20 original authorized amount as set forth in Resolution No. 14,762.
21 Section 2. Funding for this increase is to be reimbursed by the Little Rock Water Reclamation
22 Authority as part of a cooperative agreement.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer.All laws, ordinances,resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
29 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
