HDC_01 05 1994MINUTES LITTLE ROCK HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION SPECIAL CALLED MEETING JANUARY 5, 1994 3:00 P.M. The Special Called Meeting was called to order by Chairman John Bush. A quorum was present - John Bush, Carl Menyhart, Jeanette Heinbockel, Julie Wiedower and Bob Roddey. Assistant City Attorney Anthony Black and City Attorney Tom Carpenter were present. A lengthy discussion regarding Kramer School followed. The Commission requested the City's legal staff for an explanation and determination of authority in the MacArthur Park Historic District. After a lengthy discussion, City Attorney Tom Carpenter assured the Commission that neither the City nor Dr. Roy would demolish Kramer School in the next 30 day time period. Commissioner Roddey pointed out that the Commission would be notified by staff if demolition were imminent. There are only two ways for a demolition to occur 1) Dr. Roy or his agent must obtain a demolition permit from the Neighborhoods and Planning permit desk, in which case the staff would be notified, and 2) the demolition be put on ordinance to the City Board of Directors and due notice with a public hearing would ensue. Further discussion of Kramer School followed. The Commission unanimously agreed to fashion a letter to the City Board of Directors expressing their position. There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting adjourned.
