HDC_11 04 1993MINUTES LITTLE ROCK HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING NOVEMBER 4, 1993 5:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman John Bush. A quorum was present - Mr. John Bush, Mr. Carl Menyhart, Mr. Bob Roddy, and Mrs. Julie Wiedower. Ms. Jeanette Heinbockel was absent. City Attorney Anthony Black was present. Item #1 - owner: Quapaw Quarter Association - Carl Menyhart, Agent Location: MacArthur Park Historic District Request: Install Historic House markers Mr. Menyhart presented the application to the Commission and explained the "Historic House Marker Program ", sponsored by the Quapaw Quarter Association, to the Commission. He described the marker in detail and showed the Commission the prototype marker. Ms. Nancy Lowe, State Historic Preservation Program representative, was present and reiterated the State's position as outlined in the letter included in the agenda packet. Their position was not supportive of the markers. A discussion of the marker program followed. Commissioner Roddy made a motion to approve the Historic House markers in the MacArthur Park Historic District. Commissioner Bush seconded. The vote was taken. Motion carried. All ayes. There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting adjourned.
