LITTLE ROCK HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION
PUBLIC HEARING
NOVEMBER 7, 1991
5:00 P.M.
The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Thomas
Johnson. A quorum was present - Mr. John Bush, Mr. Carl Menyhart,
Ms. Jeanette Heinbockel and Mr. Thomas Johnson. Also present was
City Attorney Steve Giles.
Visiting this meeting were members of the Monroe, Louisiana
Preservation Commission - Ms. Becky Hargess, Mr. and Mrs. Curry
and Mr. Bruce Fleming. The Chairman introduced the visitors.
Ms. Becky Bryant, Acting Planning Director for Fayetteville, was
also introduced as a visitor.
The Chairman asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the
previous meetings. A motion was made by Commissioner Bush to
approve the minutes as received. Commissioner Heinbockel seconded.
Motion carried.
Mr. Ken Story, State Historic Preservation Program architectural
historian, was present to present the Runyan House at 1514 South
Schiller Street for recommendation to the State Review Board for
nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. Mr. Story
gave brief history and description of the house. He then, at
the visitors' request, elaborated on the process for listing a
structure on the National Register of Historic Places.
Commissioner Heinbockel made a motion to recommend approval of
the Runyan House for listing on the National Register of Historic
Places. Commissioner Menyhart seconded. The vote was taken.
Motion carried. All ayes.
There being no further business, the Commission adjourned.
