HDC_09 05 1991MINUTES LITTLE ROCK HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMISSION SEPTEMBER 5, 1991 5:00 P.M. The meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Chairman Thomas Johnson. A quorum was present - Mr. John Bush, Mr. Carl Menyhart, Ms. Jeanette Heinbockel and Mr. Thomas Johnson. Also present was City Attorney Stephen Giles. The Chairman asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting. A motion was made by Commissioner Bush to approve the minutes as received. Commissioner Heinbockle seconded. Motion carried. Chairman Johnson announced the first item for consideration: Item No. 1 Owner: Poe Travel Agency /Weather-Tight, Forrest Gardner, Agent Location: 915/917 Cumberland Street Request: Vinyl Siding Application Mr. Gus Walton, owner of Poe Travel, and Mr. Forrest Gardner with Weather-Tight were present and explained the application to the Commission. A lengthy discussion of vinyl siding followed. Mr. Gardner explained that he had never installed this particular product - Wolverine Classic vinyl. He stated that it is an expensive product, has a R-4 insulation rating and a 50 year warranty. He continued to explain that it replicates the existing wood siding in size, profile and finish. There was discussion as to whether this application was substantially different from Poe Travel's siding application from November 1990. Commissioner Heinbockel made a motion to hear the application as it was substantially different. Commissioner Menyhart seconded. The vote was taken. All ayes. O nays. Commissioner Heinbockle made a motion to approve the application with the following conditions: 1) The fascia, soffit, crown molding, cove molding and upper trim not be covered with artificial siding; 2) Covering the flat fascia with gutter is acceptable; 3) All louvers remain the same configuration; 4) Drip molding be reinstalled where missing. Commissioner Bush seconded. The Chairman called a five minute recess. Minutes - 09/05/91 Page Two Upon reconvening, Mr. Gus Walton stated that he would comply with all conditions. The vote was taken. Motion carried. 3 ayes. 1 nay. There being no further business, the Commission adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
