3 A RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE SHI INTERNATIONAL
4 CORPORATION AS A PUBLIC PROCUREMENT UNIT AVAILABLE TO
5 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS, FOR EXTERNAL
6 PROCUREMENT ACTIVITY; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

8 WHEREAS, Arkansas State Law permits the City to participate in public procurement units, and to
9 engage in external procedure activity,that complies with State Law as set forth in Ark.Code Ann. § 19-11-
10 256(West 2011),as may be amended; and,
11 WHEREAS,the recognition of SHI International Corporation as such a unit enables the City to obtain
12 information technology hardware and software through purchases that can save both time and money for
13 the City;
14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City recognizes SHI International Corporation ("SHI") headquartered in Somerset,
17 Swing Township, New Jersey -- a 100% minority-owned woman-owned business -- as a public
18 procurement unit available to provide external procurement activity to the City; further,with the approval
19 of the Purchasing Manager, this recognition applies not only to basic purchases, but to other contract
20 purchases available through SHI including, but not limited to, hardware, software, integration,
21 implementation and training.
22 Section 2. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
23 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
24 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
25 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
26 resolution.
27 Section 3. Repealer. All laws,ordinances,resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
28 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
