3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
4 EXECUTE A CONTRACT TO GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION,
5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY-
6 NINE THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED ONE AND 72/100 DOLLARS
7 ($459,501.72), FOR RUSS STREET IMPROVEMENTS FROM
8 CANTRELL ROAD TO PIGGEE STREET; AND FOR OTHER
9 PURPOSES

11 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for improvements Russ Street, from Cantrell Road to Piggee Street,
12 Project No. 13-4-106,Bid No. 18-015; and,
13 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
14 specifications.
15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
17 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers
18 Construction, Inc., for Russ Street Improvements in an amount not to exceed Four Hundred Fifty-Nine
19 Thousand, Five Hundred One and 72/100 Dollars ($459,501.72), which is the base bid amount of Three
20 Hundred Eighty-Two Thousand, Nine Hundred Eighteen and 10/100 Dollars ($382,918.10), plus 20%
21 contingencies.
22 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the%-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
23 Use Tax Funds and the 2013 Capital Improvements Bonds for Streets and Drainage as authorized by
24 Resolution No. 13,699 and amended by Resolution No. 14,269, Special Project Activities No. B4A0113
25 and TS4B060.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer.All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
