14774 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,774 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO 4 EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH HARRIS CONSTRUCTION 5 MANAGEMENT, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE 6 HUNDRED THIRTY-FOUR THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED TWENTY- 7 TWO DOLLARS ($134,622.00), FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE 8 UNIVERSITY DISTRICT HARRISON STREET SIDEWALKS; AND FOR 9 OTHER PURPOSES 10 11 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for construction of the University District Harrison Street 12 Sidewalks,Federal Aid Project SRSI-SRSE-1042(112),ARDOT Project No. 061416, Bid No. 18026 and, 13 WHEREAS, Harris Construction Management, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid 14 meeting specifications. 15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Harris Construction 18 Management, Inc., for the construction of the University District Harrison Street Sidewalks in an amount 19 not to exceed One Hundred Thirty-Four Thousand, Six Hundred Twenty-Two Dollars ($134,622.00), 20 which is the base bid amount of One Hundred Twelve Thousand, One Hundred Eighty-Five Dollars 21 ($112,185.00), plus 20% contingencies. 22 Section 2. Funding for the project is from an Arkansas Department of Transportation Safe Routes to 23 School Grant for design and for One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00) in construction cost 24 obtained with co-sponsor assistance from the University Development District of the University of 25 Arkansas Little Rock as authorized by Resolution No. 13,753. The estimated total City share of funding 26 for construction,testing, and administrative costs is Thirty-Eight Thousand Dollars ($38,000.00)from the 27 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating Use Tax, Special Project Activity No. TS1B062, 28 Ward 1 Sidewalks. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 33 resolution.
