3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE
4 A CONTRACT WITH GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED NINETY-EIGHT
6 THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED NINETY-FOUR AND 40/100 DOLLARS
7 ($198,194.40), FOR HUTSELL ROAD DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS;
8 AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for construction of Hutsell Road Drainage Improvements, Project
11 No. 16-2-DR-25, Bid No. 18-010, and,
12 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
13 specifications.
14 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers
17 Construction,Inc.,in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Ninety-Eight Thousand,One Hundred Ninety-
18 Four and 40/100 Dollars ($198,194.40), which is the base bid amount of One Hundred Sixty-Five
19 Thousand, One Hundred Sixty-Two Dollars($165,162.00),plus 20%contingencies.
20 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the%-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
21 Use Tax Funds,as authorized by Resolution No. 14,310,and is available from Special Project Activity No.
22 TS2B085.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer.All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
29 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
