3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN STRUCTURE, INC., IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE MILLION, THREE HUNDRED
6 SIXTEEN THOUSAND, TWO HUNDRED FORTY AND 40/100 DOLLARS
7 ($1,316,240.40),FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE COLOBUS/SERVAL
8 EXHIBIT AT THE LITTLE ROCK ZOO; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Zoo seeks to build a new Colobus/Serval Exhibit that meets current
11 standards of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums; and,
12 WHEREAS,the Little Rock Zoo seeks to add an interactive exhibit that meets animal needs and also
13 tells a story of wildlife conservation; and,
14 WHEREAS, after proceeding with a competitive bidding process, Bid No. 18103, it was determined
15 that American Structure, Inc.,was the low bidder for the construction of the Colobus/Serval Exhibit.
16 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
17 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
18 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into agreements with American Structure,Inc.,for
19 the construction of the Colobus/Serval Exhibit, including all deductive alternates 1, 2, 3, in an amount not
20 to exceed One Million, Ninety-Six Thousand, Eight Hundred Sixty-Seven Dollars ($1,096,867.00), plus
21 20%to allow change orders,if needed,for a total amount of One Million,Three Hundred Sixteen Thousand,
22 Two Hundred Forty and 40/100 Dollars($1,316,240.40).
23 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the%-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
24 Use Tax Funds, Special Project Account No. 326659 TS65A90 72504.
25 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
26 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
27 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
28 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
29 resolution.
30 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are
31 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
