14762 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,762 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE 4' A CONTRACT WITH GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND, FOUR 6 HUNDRED THIRTY-TWO DOLLARS ($75,432.00), FOR THE 7 CONSTRUCTION OF IMPROVEMENTS TO 18TH STREET, FROM 8 WASHINGTON STREET TO PEYTON STREET; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES 10 11 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for construction of improvements to 18th Street, Washington Street 12 to Peyton Street, Project No. 16-1-ST-8, Bid No. 18008; and 13 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting 14 specifications. 15 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 16 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 17 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers 18 Construction,Inc.,for the construction of improvements to 18th Street,Washington Street to Peyton Street, 19 in an amount not to exceed Seventy-Five Thousand,Four Hundred Thirty-Two Dollars($75,432.00),which 20 is the base bid amount of Sixty-Two Thousand, Eight Hundred Sixty Dollars ($62,860.00), plus 20% 21 contingencies. 22 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the%-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating 23 Use Tax Funds, Special Project Activity TS1B082 as authorized by Resolution No. 14,310. 24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 28 resolution. 29 Section 4. Repealer.
