14756 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,756 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH JUNKIN CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, 5 INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO HUNDRED TWENTY- 6 NINE THOUSAND, FIVE HUNDRED NINETY DOLLARS ($229,590.00), 7 FOR SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION WITHIN THE CITY OF LITTLE 8 ROCK,ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 9 10 WHEREAS, sidewalk improvements are needed within the City of Little Rock to maintain existing 11 sidewalks, and 12 WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Little Rock approved a 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and 13 Compensating Use Tax which provided funding for these sidewalk improvements; and 14 WHEREAS, the Public Works Department maintains a list of resident requests for sidewalk 15 replacement and the sidewalks locations selected for construction were requested by residents prior to 16 August 2016; and 17 WHEREAS, Junkin Construction Company, Inc., submitted the lowest, responsive, responsible bid 18 (Bid No. 18116)meeting specifications for the 2018 Sidewalk Replacement Program. 19 NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Junkin Construction 22 Company, Inc., in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Twenty-Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Ninety 23 Dollars ($229,590.00), or One Hundred Ninety-One Thousand, Three Hundred Twenty-Five Dollars 24 ($191,325.00),plus 20%contingency. 25 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the 3/8-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and 26 Compensating Use Tax Funds and available in Account No.TS40A08. 27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the 31 resolution. 32 Section 4. Repealer.
