3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO AGREEMENTS WITH THE ARKANSAS DEPARTMENT OF
5 TRANSPORTATION FOR STUDIES TO IMPROVE PEDEDSTRIAN
6 SAFETY ON CANTRELL ROAD, NEAR COOLIDGE STREET; AND
7 FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

9 WHEREAS, as part of the continued efforts to fund special programs and related services to
10 improve pedestrian safety; and,
11 WHEREAS, Federal Safe Transportation for Every Pedestrian (SAFE) Funds Grant and Street Fund
12 Special Project Turnback Funds are available to study potential pedestrian safety improvements on
13 Highway 10 (Cantrell Road), near Coolidge Street, located between Hughes and F Streets; and,
14 WHEREAS, Little Rock and Jonesboro were selected to receive and share this special grant award;
15 and,
16 WHEREAS, upon adoption of this resolution, an agreement will be executed with the Arkansas
17 Department of Transportation(ArDOT);
18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
19 CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS, THAT:
20 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a Contractual Agreement with ArDOT for
21 studies to improve pedestrian safety on Cantrell Road, near Coolidge Street.
22 Section 2. Funding for this project is available from an ArDot STEP Grant and Street Fund Special
23 Project Turnback Fund (Account No. 205409).
24 Section 3. The maximum grant amount is One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000.00), with a
25 maximum grant match amount of Twenty-Five Thousand Dollars($25,000.00).
26 Section 4. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 5. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
32 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
