3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH AD-WEAR & SPECIALTY OF TEXAS, INC,
5
IN THE AMOUNT OF FIFTY-FOUR THOUSAND, SEVEN HUNDRED
6 SEVENTY-FOUR AND 84/100 DOLLARS ($54,774.84), FOR THE
7 PURCHASE OF THE 2018 LITTLE ROCK MARATHON PARTICIPANT
8 AND VOLUNTEER SHIRTS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS,the 16'x'annual Little Rock Marathon will be held March 3-4, 2018; and,
11 WHEREAS, an estimated 14,000 participants, 3,500 volunteers and 30,000 spectators from all fifty
12 (50) States and over thirty(30)countries are expected to visit Little Rock for the event; and,
13 WHEREAS, as part of their registration, participants and volunteers receive a shirt to commemorate
14 their participation in the 2018 event; and,
15 WHEREAS,the City issued Public Bid No. 17196 to solicit and obtain competitive bids from screen
16 printing companies with experience in printing shirts for a large public event in order to obtain the best
17 price;and,
18 WHEREAS,six(6)companies submitted qualifications and bids,a Selection Committee reviewed the
19 qualifications and determined that two(2)of the six(6)companies were responsible and responsive bidders;
20 and,
21 WHEREAS,the City's Purchasing Department reviewed all the bid pricing and determined that Ad-
22 Wear& Specialty of Texas, Inc., submitted the lowest bid in the amount of Fifty-Four Thousand, Seven
23 Hundred Seventy-Four and 84/100 Dollars($54,774.84);
24 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
25 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
26 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
27 Ad-Wear & Specialty of Texas, Inc., for the purchase of 2018 Little Rock Marathon Participants and
28 Volunteer Commemorative Marathon Shirts, in the amount of Fifty-Four Thousand, Seven Hundred
29 Seventy-Four and 84/100 Dollars($54,774.84);
30 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in the Little Rock Marathon Special Project Account
31 No.210459-A00B268.
32 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
33 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
34 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and

1 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
2 resolution.
3 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
4 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
