14706 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,706 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT TITLE TO PROPERTY DONATED TO 4 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK BY QUITCLAIM DEED, TO BE USED 5 FOR NEIGHBORHOOD REVITALIZATION PROGRAMS; AND FOR 6 ' OTHER PURPOSES. 7 8 WHEREAS, the Board of Directors has stated as one of its goals a desire to provide for 9 neighborhood revitalization, and has taken special efforts to accomplish this goal through its use of 10 various City and federal funds, and in affirmative actions such as the creation of a Land Bank 11 Commission; and, 12 WHEREAS, in order to accomplish this goal is it required that properties be obtained by the City in 13 areas that are appropriate for revitalization;and, 14 WHEREAS, Clayton Gring, Sr., & Jane C Gring have indicated their desire to donate to the City of 15 Little Rock, Arkansas, ten (10) properties located at West 35th Street, Little Rock, Arkansas, with the 16 following legal descriptions: 17 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 3. Parcel 44L1220006000 18 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 4 Parcel 44L1220006100 19 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 5 Parcel 44L1220006200 20 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 7 Parcel 44L1220006400 21 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 8 Parcel 44L1220006500 22 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 9 Parcel 44L1220006600 23 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 10 Parcel 44L1220006700 24 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 11 Parcel 44L1220006800 25 Interurban Heights Block 7,Lot 12 Parcel 44L1220006900 26 Interurban Heights Block 8,Lot 3 Parcel 44L1220007200 27 WHEREAS, the City wishes to accept the properties for use in its neighborhood revitalization 28 efforts; and, 29 WHEREAS, City Staff has conducted a title search of the property which revealed valid title to the 30 property, and 2016 Real Estate Taxes due in the amount of One Thousand, Thirty-Five and 40/100 • 31 Dollars($1,035.40)will be paid by donor; and, 32 WHEREAS, the City has performed an environmental assessment of the property pursuant to 24 33 C.F.R. § 58,et seq. (2003),which revealed no environmental problems; and, [Page 1 of 5] 1 WHEREAS, in consideration for the donation of the property for the public purpose of neighborhood 2 revitalization,the City has not agreed to pay property taxes; and, 3 WHEREAS, Clayton Gring Sr. &Jane C Gring have provided the City with a Quitclaim Deed to the 4 property,a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A;and, 5 WHEREAS, State Law requires that the City accept the property by resolution adopted by the 6 Board of Directors; 7 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 8 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 9 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby accepts the quitclaim deed to the property described in 10 Exhibit A, in favor of the City of Little Rock. 11 Section 2. The property shall be used for a public purpose, specifically for City revitalization 12 programs. 13 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 14 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 15 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 16 effect a if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 17 ordinance. 18 Section 4.Repealer.
