3 A RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A
4 TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION FOR PUBLIC SAFETY (TIPS)
5 RESEARCH PARTNER CONTRACT WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF
6 ARKANSAS AT LITTLE ROCK, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
7 SIXTY-TWO THOUSAND,EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS($62,800.00),TO
8 AID IN THE INVESTIGATION OF SHOOTING INCIDENTS WITHIN
9 THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER
10 PURPOSES.

12 WHEREAS,the City of Little Rock, Arkansas (City), through its Little Rock Police Department has
13 received a Technology Innovation for Public Safety (TIPS) Grant, in the amount of Sixty-Two Thousand,
14 Eight Hundred Dollars($62,800.00),from the U.S.Department of Justice,Bureau of Justice Assistance,to
15 partner with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) on technological aid for the investigation
16 of shooting incidents within the City; and,
17 WHEREAS, the it is necessary to authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with UALR to
18 provide the research services required by this grant;
19 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a research services agreement with UALR in
22 an amount not to exceed Sixty-Two Thousand, Eight Hundred Dollars ($62,800.00) to provide
23 technological analysis of shooting incidents with the City.
24 Section 2. Funds for this agreement are available from a TIPS Grant from the U.S. Department of
25 Justice,Bureau of Justice Assistance, and are maintained in Account No. 270529-G35158-63390.
26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
30 resolution.
31 Section 4. Repealer. All resolutions, bylaws, and other matters inconsistent with this resolution are
32 hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
