3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH METROPOLITAN FIRE
5 EXTINGUISHER, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED EIGHTY
6 THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY-THREE DOLLARS($80,483.00),
7 FOR THE PURCHASE OF THIRTEEN (13) SCOTT AIRPAK 75 UNITS
8 FOR USE BY THE CENTRAL ARKANSAS HAZMAT TEAM; AND FOR
9 OTHER PURPOSES.

11 WHEREAS,with funding from the Arkansas State Department of Homeland Security Grant Program,
12 the City has the opportunity to purchase thirteen(13)Scott Airpak 75 Units for use by the Central Arkansas
13 Regional Hazmat Team; and,
14 WHEREAS, this regional team includes Hazmat Units from the Little Rock, North Little Rock, Hot
15 Springs and Conway Fire Hazmat Units, and from the Pulaski County Hazmat Unit; and,
16 WHEREAS, after a competitive bid pursuant to Bid No. 17-170 it was determined that the Eighty
17 Thousand, Four Hundred Eighty-Three Dollar($80,483.00)bid by Metropolitan Fire Extinguisher was the
18 lowest responsible and responsive bid;
19 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Metropolitan Fire
22 Extinguishers, in an amount not to exceed Eighty Thousand, Four Hundred Eighty-Three Dollars
23 ($80,483.00), for the purchase of thirteen (13) Scott Airpak 75 Units to be used by the Central Arkansas
24 Regional Hazmat Team.
25 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in Activity No. G030335, and will be provided by a
26 grant of the Arkansas State Homeland Security Grant Program.
27 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
28 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
29 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
30 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
31 resolution.
32 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions,or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
33 the provisions of this resolution,are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
