14671 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,671 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH FARRWEST ENVIRONMENTAL, IN AN 5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIFTY-NINE THOUSAND,FIVE HUNDRED 6 DOLLARS ($59,500.00), FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE (1) SMITH 7 DETECTION HAZMAT ID ELITE FOR USE BY THE CENTRAL 8 ARKANSAS REGIONAL HAZMAT TEAM; AND FOR OTHER 9 PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS,with funding from the Arkansas State Department of Homeland Security Grant Program, 12 the City has the opportunity to purchase one (1) Smith Detection Hazmat ID Elite for use by the Central 13 Arkansas Regional Hazmat Team; and, 14 WHEREAS, this regional team includes Hazmat units from the Little Rock, North Little Rock, Hot 15 Springs and Conway Fire Hazmat Units, and from the Pulaski County Hazmat Unit; and, 16 WHEREAS,after a competitive bid pursuant to Bid No. 17-170, it was determined that the Fifty-Nine 17 Thousand, Five Hundred Dollar($59,500.00) bid by FarrWest Environmental was the lowest responsible 18 and responsive bid; 19 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 20 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 21 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with FarrWest Environmental 22 in an amount not to exceed Fifty-Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars ($59,500.00) for the purchase of 23 one(1) Smith Detection Hazmat ID Elite to be used by the Central Arkansas Regional Hazmat Team. 24 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available in Activity No. G030331, and will be provided by a 25 grant of the Arkansas State Homeland Security Grant Program. 26 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 27 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 28 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 29 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 30 resolution. 31 Section 4. Repealer.
