14608 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,608 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AMEND LITTLE ROCK, ARK.,RESOLUTION NO. 4 14,566 (MAY 16, 2017) TO INCLUDE LOFTON SECURITY SERVICES, 5 INC., TO PROVIDE SECURITY SERVICES FOR THE LITTLE ROCK 6 DISTRICT COURTS BUILDING; TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY 7 MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH LOFTON SECURITY 8 SERVICES, INC., IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FORTY-SEVEN 9 THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED SIXTY DOLLARS ($47,960.00), AND FOR 10 OTHER PURPOSES. 11 12 WHEREAS, the City has a need for Armed and Unarmed Security Services for various City 13 buildings,and pursuant to Bid No. C 17128 the City received responses from six(6)vendors and Superior 14 Protection Services Corporation d/b/a Advert Group USA of Little Rock,Arkansas,was determined to be 15 the lowest responsible and responsive bidder for various City buildings, excluding the Little Rock District 16 Courts Building; and 17 WHEREAS, Superior Protection Services Corporation d/b/a Advert Group USA of Little Rock, 18 Arkansas, withdrew its bid with respect to providing Security Services to the Little Rock District Courts 19 Building, leaving Lofton Security Services as the lowest responsible and responsive bidder with respect to 20 those services at the Little Rock District Courts Building; and 21 WHEREAS, on May 16,2017,the City Board of Directors adopted Little Rock,Ark., Resolution No. 22 14,566 (May 16, 2017) to authorize the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Superior 23 Protection Services of Little Rock, Arkansas, in an amount not to exceed Two Hundred Sixteen 24 Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars($216,500.00)to provide Armed and Unarmed Security Services for 25 City Hall and other designated City buildings; 26 WHEREAS,Little Rock,Ark.,Resolution No. 14,566(May 16,2017)did not include the Little Rock 27 District Courts Building; and 28 WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 14,566 (May 16, 2017) to 29 include the Little Rock District Courts Building. 30 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 31 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 32 Section 1. Section 1 of Little Rock, Ark., Resolution No. 14,566 (May 16, 2017) is hereby amended 33 to read as follows: [Page 1 of 2] 1 The City Manager is authorized to enter into an agreement with Superior Protection 2 Services of Little Rock, Arkansas in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Sixty- 3 Nine Thousand, Five Hundred Dollars($169,500.00) to provide Armed and Unarmed 4 Security Services for City Hall and other designated City buildings, excluding the Little 5 Rock District Courts Building; and, to enter into an agreement with Lofton Security 6 Services,Inc., in an amount not to exceed Forty-Seven Thousand,Nine Hundred Sixty 7 Dollars($47,960.00)to provide Unarmed Security Services for the Little Rock District 8 Courts Building. 9 Section 2. Section 3 of Little Rock, Ark.,Resolution No. 14,566 (May 16, 2017) is hereby amended 10 to read as follows: These agreements cover all properties that were bid in Request for Proposal No. 11 C17128. 12 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title,section,paragraph, item,sentence,clause,phrase,or 13 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 14 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of this resolution,which shall remain in full force and 15 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of 16 the resolution. 17 Section 4. Repealer.
