AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 AND SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO.
7826, AS AMENDED, SAME BEING:
"AN ORDINANCE CREATING A BOARD OF CENSORS FOR THE CITY OF
LITTLE ROCK, PROVIDING FOR THE ORGANIZATION AND DUTIES THERE-
OF, PROVIDING FOR CENSORING EXHIBITIONS OR MOTION PICTURE
SHOWS, VAUDEVILLE, AND OTHER THEATRES, PLAYHOUSES, CIRCUSES,
CARNIVALS, AND ALL OTHER -SHOWS AND PERFORMANCES, PROVIDING
FOR THE CENSORING OF ADVERTISING, PUBLICLY DISPLAYED PICTURES,
LITERATURE$ MAGAZINES AND PUBLICATIONS, PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY
FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF, REPEALING CERTAIN ORDINANCES, AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES.";
BY RECONSTITUTING THE BOARD OF CENSORS; PROVIDING FOR THE NUMBER
OF MEMBERS THEREON; PROVIDING FOR THE TERMS OF SAID MEMBERS; PRO-
VIDING FOR THE REMOVAL THEREOF; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY OF LITTLE ROCK,

SECTION 1, Section 1 of Ordinance No. 7826, as amended, same
being: "An ordinance creating a Board of Censors for the City of
Little Rock, providing for the organization and duties thereof, pro-
viding for censoring exhibitions or motion picture shows, vaudeville,
and other theatres, playhouses, circuses, carnivals, and all other
shows and performances, providing for the censoring of advertising,
publicly displayed pictures, literature, magazines and publications,
providing for a penalty for the violation thereof, repealing certain
ordinances, and for other purposes. ", is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"SECTION 1. In order to protect the morals, sense of decency
and peace of the residents of the City of Little Rock, especially
those under legal age, a Board of Censors is hereby created con-
sisting of fifteen (15) members. Each City Director shall appoint
two (2) members, and the Little Rocky Parent- Teachers Association
shall choose one (1) member, such member to be elected by the or-
ganization and certified to the City Directors by the President
and Secretary of said organization. All appointments shall be
made and certified to the Board of Directors by December 1st of
each year, in order that the new Board of Censors may be officially
organized in January of each year."
SECTION *2. Section 2 of said Ordinance No. 7826 is hereby amended
to read as follows:

"SECTION 2. The terms of the members of the said Board shall
be one (1) year each and shall expire on the 31st day of December
of each year. Each member of the Board of Directors of the City
shall have the right to remove, at any time, any member of the
Board of Censors appointed by him. Any appointment to fill a
vacancy on the said Board of Censors shall be for the unexpired
term of the said vacancy. Provided, however, that the persons
now serving as members'of the said Board of Censors shall continue
to serve until the expiration of their present appointments."
SECTION 3. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed and this ordinance shall be in full
force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
