14400 1 RESOLUTION NO. 14,400 2 3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER 4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH OPTIV SECURITY, INC., IN THE AMOUNT 5 OF NINETY-THREE THOUSAND, SIX HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN AND 6 80/100 DOLLARS ($93,667.80) PLUS TAX, FOR THE LICENSE 7 RENEWALS AND SUPPORT FOR NEXT GENERATION FIREWALLS 8 TO SUPPORT THE SECURITY OF THE CITY'S NETWORK 9 LOCATIONS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES. 10 11 WHEREAS, the Information Technology Department issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the 12 purchase of license renewals and support for both of the City's firewalls; and, 13 WHEREAS, these firewalls and licenses are required to support the City's secure use of the City 14 network and to support the users at remote locations, such as Neighborhood Resource Centers, Fire 15 Stations, and Parks locations; and, 16 WHEREAS, OPTIV was the only responder to the RFP with a proposal of Ninety-Three Thousand, 17 Six Hundred Sixty-Seven and 80/100 Dollars ($93,667.80), plus tax to provide the firewall, licenses and 18 support, and they are the current holder of the contract for maintenance and support for the City; and, 19 WHEREAS,the Information Technology Department requires a CheckPoint 4 (Four) Star Partner to 20 provide support, and OPTIV meets that requirement; 21 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY 22 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS: 23 Section 1. The City Manager is authorized to enter into a contract in the amount of Ninety-Three 24 Thousand, Six Hundred Sixty-Seven and 80/100 Dollars($93,667.80),plus tax with OPTIV Security, Inc. 25 for the purchase of CheckPoint firewalls, licenses and support for the City's data centers and sixty-two 26 (62)broadband locations. 27 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are available from Information Technology Operational Account 28 103030-61330. 29 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or 30 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or 31 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and 32 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the 33 resolution.
