3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO AWARD
4 A CONTRACT TO GENE SUMMERS CONSTRUCTION, INC., IN AN
5 AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FIVE HUNDRED FIFTY-TWO
6 THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED EIGHTY-ONE AND 20/100 DOLLARS
7 ($552,481.20), FOR THE ELLIS & STEVENS STREET DRAINAGE
8 IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

10 WHEREAS, Bids were solicited for Ellis & Stevens Drainage Improvements, Project No. 13-B-4B,
11 Bid No. 16015; and,
12 WHEREAS, Gene Summers Construction, Inc., was the lowest responsive, responsible bid meeting
13 specifications.
14 NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TIlE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
15 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
16 Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with Gene Summers
17 Construction, Inc., for Ellis Stevens Drainage in an amount not to exceed Five Hundred Fifty-Two
18 Thousand, Four Hundred Eighty-One and 20/100 Dollars ($552,481.20), which is the base bid amount of
19 Four Hundred Sixty Thousand, Four Hundred One Dollars($460,401.00), plus 20% contingencies.
20 Section 2. Funding for this project is from the %-Cent Capital Improvement Sales and Compensating
21 Use Tax Funds and the 2013 Capital Improvements Bonds for Streets and Drainage as authorized by
22 Resolution No. 13,699 and amended by Resolution No. 14,269.
23 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
24 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
25 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
26 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional was not originally a part of the
27 resolution.
28 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same, that are inconsistent with
29 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
30 Section 5. This resolution will be in full force and effect from and after the date of its adoption.
