3 A RESOLUTION TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
4 INTO A CONTRACT WITH DEERE & COMPANY, FOR A TOTAL
5 PURCHASE COST OF SEVENTY THOUSAND, ONE HUNDRED
6 NINETEEN AND 84/100 DOLLARS ($70,119.84), FOR THE PURCHASE
7 OF THREE (3) FLEX WING GROOMING MOWERS, FOR THE PARKS
8 AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

10 WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department is in need of three (3) Flex Wing Grooming
11 Mowers; and,
12 WHEREAS, this purchase will allow for the replacement of aged Grounds Maintenance Equipment
13 currently accruing high maintenance expenses; and,
14 WHEREAS,the City participates in a group contract with the National Joint Powers Alliance(NJPA)
15 pursuant to Little Rock, Resolution No 13,532 (July 17, 2012), this purchase is pursuant to that contract
16 without formal competitive bidding;
17 NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CITY
18 OF LITTLE ROCK,ARKANSAS:
19 Section 1. The Board of Directors hereby authorizes the City Manager to enter into a contract with
20 Deere&Company for the purchase of three(3)Flex Wing Grooming Mowers for the Parks and Recreation
21 Department at a total cost of Seventy Thousand, One Hundred Nineteen and 84/100 Dollars($70,119.84),
22 by utilizing the National Joint Powers Alliance(NJPA).
23 Section 2. Funds for this purchase are allocated in the 2016 5/8-Cents Tax Account.
24 Section 3. Severability. In the event any title, section, paragraph, item, sentence, clause, phrase, or
25 word of this resolution is declared or adjudged to be invalid or unconstitutional, such declaration or
26 adjudication shall not affect the remaining portions of the resolution which shall remain in full force and
27 effect as if the portion so declared or adjudged invalid or unconstitutional were not originally a part of the
28 resolution.
29 Section 4. Repealer. All laws, ordinances, resolutions, or parts of the same,that are inconsistent with
30 the provisions of this resolution, are hereby repealed to the extent of such inconsistency.
